To all you lovely people out there who need a little bit of motivation and purpose to roll out of bed in the morning, or to those who are bored of feeling rubbish and don’t know how to change that, you’ll want to hear this. Here is an easy morning ritual that will change your life. Challenge yourself and try this routine for seven days. Just watch how your mood and your overall well being begins to transform into something much greater.
The Morning Routine That Will Change Your Life:
Start your day early:
- Wake up EARLY. Whether that’s 6 am, 7 am, or 8 am it doesn’t matter. Give yourself 20 – 30 minutes to complete this ritual before you begin your day. As tempting as it can be, do not press snooze! Go for a shower to wake yourself up, do your skincare routine or drink a glass of water. Just don’t go back to sleep. You’ll see how beginning your day early changes your whole vibration. Remember, you can never relive a day the same again so make the most of the time you have!
Plan your daily goals:
- Plan your day. You could use a journal, a piece of paper, your phone notes, a laptop etc… Try and stick to the timings you put down. For example, if you have a work meeting at 11 am write it in. If you are going to meet a friend, going to the gym or making breakfast make sure you write it in against a schedule. Now, if you don’t stick to the times don’t worry. Just try! For all those who have no clue what their day will consist of, write a couple of goals you’d like to achieve and put them down on your list. Everyone must set at least 1 goal of the day and a reward if they achieve it! It hasn’t always got to be an extremely pressurising goal. Do what feels best for you.

Write a grateful list:
- Write down 10 things you are grateful for in life. Whip out the journal, piece of paper or phone notes and begin numbering 10 things you are grateful for. Sometimes, 10 can seem like a lot. Just remember the luxuries we take for granted such as your home, clean sheets, clean running tap water, the 17p in your account (students I feel you), your family, your ability to walk and the list could go on…
Example:
- Once you have listed 10, Say the words ‘Thank you’ in your head or out loud as you’ll feel it much more. That feeling you receive after that my friends is gratitude from within. Now just imagine having that feeling with you all the time.
Visualise your goals:
- Visualise your goals for the year. If you haven’t written out your goals for the year yet, this is your sign to do it. It can be to receive your first job promotion, to reach 10k in your savings, to buy your first house, and to smash your exams. Whatever it is, believe you have already received it. Manifest it, feel that deeper level of gratitude as though you have received it. In simple words, Act like you already have it. Think about how you would feel once it’s accomplished and you can put a big fat tick through that list. I know for sure when I tick mine off it is the best feeling in the world.
Affirmations:
Read some affirmations. You could listen to some affirmations on YouTube or you can make them up and read them. I have a fantastic book, it gives me affirmations on Love, Health, Success and Money. Affirmations are super important as you are convincing your mind. After a while, those affirmations will become your natural thoughts.

So try this challenge for 7 days. Be strict on yourself and make sure you complete what I have laid out. For beginners, it takes practise to feel these emotions on a deeper level but I promise you, the more you practise, the easier it gets. You’ll notice how much better your moods are, how things go according to what you want during the day and how giving your time to these important activities are worth it.
