DISCLAIMER! I’m not a professional in hair. This is what works for me.
What I use on my hair:
I’d often neglect haircare as I felt I didn’t need to overuse products and I didn’t like putting too much in my hair. After getting covid twice (what an L) I have suffered from a little bit of hair loss and weaker hair. Nothing substantial but it was a lot more fragile than it had ever been. Since then, I began researching haircare and I started using Tropic. I used to use their skincare a few years ago and I loved it. This is in no way an AD or any sort of promotion it’s just based on my own experience. It is a pricey routine but personally, I think it’s worth it. I started off by trying their discovery kit and it was amazing so I bought the big sized bottles.
The discovery kit costs £25 for the 2 shampoos, conditioner, hair oil and scalp massager or £20 without the scalp massager. It’s lasted me a good 7 washes which is amazing considering the bottles are so small.
Here’s the link to the discovery kit. (click me)
My routine:
- Wash hair every 3-4 days.
- Start off by using the cleansing shampoo to get all of the oil and grease out. Rub until you get a rich lather and then it out rinse. BTW they smell AMAZING! They are known for using lots of natural ingredients and it smells insane. Some products can smell very chemically and fake and this just smells very organic and natural.
- Then add the other shampoo which is the more moisturising shampoo. This one doesn’t lather it’s just like a cream texture and they say you can use it if you need to wash your hair more frequently. This is where your scalp massager comes in hand. Massaging your scalp is important and it relieves that pain of having your hair up all day so it feels lush haha. It’s important for hair growth. Massage with the scalp massager for around 3 minutes. Then rinse it off and you’ll realise clean your scalp feels.
- After, add the moisturising conditioner which also smells insane. Add it to the ends of your hair running your fingers through. I let it sit for around 5-10 minutes while I’m washing the rest of my body. Then I’ll wash it out.
- Before coming out of the shower it’s important to just rinse your hair off to get rid of the excess water. Then I’ll put it in a microfibre towel to let all the other bits of water out. After, I’ll take it out and brush through it lightly. There shouldn’t be any knots or much breakage.
- This is usually the last step for me… so I’ll then add the tropic hair oil to the ends of my damp hair and let it air dry. If I am going out and need to style it asap then I’ll add the oil, and heat protection (I used the v05 heat protectant) and then I’ll proceed with the hairdryer.
So that’s my short wash routine. Sometimes I’ll use the hair oil combined with the conditioner as an overnight treatment when my hair is really greasy and it works wonders. It always feels so silky and conditioned after. I’ll also use coconut oil once a week and leave it in overnight. Then I’ll wash it out the next morning. Coconut oil is a must-have in your ’That girl haircare routine!’
