Hello, hello ❤️
If my Sunday reset doesn’t happen…my whole week feels off. The girlies know. There is something about ending the week feeling relaxed and yet put together that changes everything. This is my go-to Sunday reset beauty ritual to help me stay feeling and looking my best for the week ahead. I aim to do this every Sunday. We all know, consistency is key! We often neglect regularly pampering ourselves, as life does get busy. Sometimes it’s not possible to do the full routine, but I aim to do at least one thing. We all know how good it feels to have a spa day. Now let’s put the effort in and try to give ourselves aspects of it to our everyday life. We must end the week on a high. Pampering yourself shouldn’t be looked at as a chore. It’s a ritual, a blessing, a moment to appreciate the body that carries you through everyday life. Light a candle, play some music, and put your phone on DND. Care for the body that works so hard every single day. Show yourself some love.
Hydration and movement
I love starting my mornings with celery juice on an empty stomach. I find it’s much more exciting than drinking water first thing lol. And it looks pretty. So I usually have an ice-cold glass of celery juice. I juice celery and coconut water together. I also find it helps with bloating and just overall hydration. Then, depending on where I’m at in my cycle, I’ll do some movement. I take it week by week, depending on how I’m feeling on that Sunday morning. If I find I have a lot of energy, I’ll train at the gym targeting a specific area, or if I’m feeling low on energy, I’ll do morning yoga and a dog walk. That way, I get my stretch in and some steps. This is key! When I miss any kind of movement on a Sunday reset day, I weirdly lack more energy.
Hair prep
With my job, I’ve always got a load of different products in my hair as well as a lot of heat used on it. My hair needs regular TLC. I will usually put coconut oil in once a week, and let it sit for hours before washing it out. I find this super hydrating for my hair, and I’ve been doing it since I was a child. Although, I’ll pick a natural hair mask when I know I don’t have to leave the house, as pure coconut oil has that smell. So if I have to pop out, I use the Monday Haircare mask as an alternative. This smells insane, and then I can slick my hair back and wash it out in the evening. After both, my hair is always left feeling so silky.

Bath and body ritual
Once I’ve got everything that I need to get done, I run a warm bubble bath. This is a Sunday statement! I light candles everywhere and sit in the dark. It’s the best thing ever and I play some relaxing, whimsical baddie music. Actually, when I’m sitting in the bath in the dark, the best creative ideas flow to me!
After I’ve had my meditative moment, I then go back to physical pampering. So I use this black soap scrub. Well, it’s actually my mums and I really hope she doesn’t see this lol. But it’s incredible! Your skin feels so soft after. I’ve tried so many different body exfoliants, and this is by far my favourite one. Your skin literally feels like butter after. I then scrub it off with a flannel and apply this Elemis shower oil, which I’m also obsessed with. I’ll wash my hair mask out and do my normal shampoo routine. It’s an everything bath, so I always feel insane but knackered after. The girls that get it, get it.

More pamper bits
I’ll come out of the bath, put on fresh silk pj’s, apply an Elemis face mask, and leave my hair in a towel turban to dry a little. Then I swear by the Colorwow Dream Coat and Wella hair defence spray. This combo is something else; your hair literally feels like silk. Depending on my schedule for the next day, I’ll either blow-dry it or I’ll let it dry naturally and curly.
Remember, when you sleep feeling good, you wake up feeling even better!
I then go in with my normal skincare, usually a toner, moisturiser, and eye cream.
Nails and hands
Now I do this weekly. I never used to, but wow, it makes such a difference. I file, shape, and cut cuticles and apply a shiny clear coat on. It’s been over a year since I stopped getting my nails done. I used to get gels on natural nails, but it really ruined my nail beds. The drill caused them to become so brittle and weak. So I’ve finally built my nail health back up and will only ever get them done if a client requests them to be done. I’m low-key digging the bare nail look at the moment.

Reset the space
To finish my lovely self-care evening, I get into bed, of course, light candles in my room, and switch my phone off on silent. I have a strict routine of no phone at least 30 minutes before bed, as I find I sleep way better and my mind stops ticking. I always regret it when I look at a screen right before bed. So instead, I opt for journaling or reading a book. This calms my nervous system down and prepares it for sleep. I always have the best night’s sleep on a Sunday night once I’ve done this. And once you get into a habit of doing it weekly, you notice how much better your overall mood is, you look better and most importantly, you show up for a new week clear and in your best headspace.

Of course, sometimes a strict Sunday reset isn’t always possible, especially with my work and how unpredictable the travelling is. So on that note, if your lifestyle is similar, be flexible. The point of this is to get yourself in a habit of carving out a couple of hours a week as non-negotiable self-care time because you deserve it!
Look after your body and energy. It deserves your time and attention.
Always remember, taking care of your mind is just as important as taking care of your appearance. I shared a ‘Balancing work, balancing life’ blog with my favourite tips and exercises to create more balance in your life.
